Ex Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Captain Retired Mohammad Sarfaraz Khan passed away in Local Hospital of United Kingdom today June 8, 2012.
He was ill and went to United Kingdom for treatment in last week and passed away in Hospital on June 8, 2012 at the age of 78 years.
Captain Retired Mohammad Sarfaraz Khan started his political career in 1964 after retirement from Pakistan Army. He stand up in District Council and then in Legislative Assembly Elections. He was up for his first Elections in 1970 against Ch Khadim Hussain. In 1975 Captain (R) Sarfaraz Khan won election as independent candidate and was selected as opposition leader.
In 1991 Captain (R) Sarfaraz Khan won elections and became Forest and Treasure Minister on Muslim Conference Platform. He remained on different Designations in Muslim Conference, after Formation of PML N in AJK Captain Retired Mohammad Sarfaraz Khan joined PMLN AJK.
Captain (R) Sarfaraz Khan’s Constituency was LA 2 Chakswari/Islamgarh. His resident is in Sector F-1 of Mirpur Azad Kashmir.

Sarfraz Khan was a well-known political figure of great stature and former member and minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. He was an established career politician, who has been involved and actively participated in political process since 1960,s. “My thoughts are with his family”
Captain R Sarfraz Khan was a leader who never compromised with the people who do wrong things, and he will be greatly missed not just by the people of Miropur but by the nation as a whole who knew Captain saab
